A sad day today. My nan passed away at 8am this morning. I loved my nan and my fondest memories of her are in the kitchen with a pinny on cooking me and my cousins a fry up on sunday mornings. Especially the black pudding, fried bread and the famous marrow curd. She had 6 children, 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was a superwoman and will be very sadly missed. Goodbye nan xxx

Today has been a busy day! This morning I packed the boys off to school and Brooke to nursery and drove to collect my nan from littlehampton, we were going to see baby lily!!

This is a picture of me with my new niece! Isnt she beautiful! I didnt like to keep my sister too long as I know how tiring it is with a new baby, so we did lots off cooing at lily and then left the new family in peace.
Nan and I then drove back and went and had lunch at a harvester. It was her treat for my birthday, which was last month but its taken some organisation to meet up. Lovely food and my nan makes me laugh so much!
This evening has been taken with keeping my eye on ebay as I was watching something I really wanted. Im happy to say I won and at a bargain price of £10.50!

My dad is borrowing a van so he can go and collect them for me:) I cant wait and now I have the lovely job of choosing the perfect colour for them!!

I had a picture text and 4am this morning, a photo of my new niece....baby lilly! My sister has a c-section at 2.30am. I am waiting to hear more details at the moment and will post some pictures when I go up and see her.
Yesterday was a busy housework day, mostly spent washing and ironing. I also mowed the lawn and cleaned out and moved the chicken house. I still have a huge pile of ironing to do, which will be done today.
I am itching to get started on the hallway, but I have run out of paint and have a lot of bills to pay this week so new paint will have to wait.

What a wonderful day I had yesterday! Tina and I had a great time shopping in Brighton, I can home with some lovely bits and a much lighter purse!
Cath Kidston was a delight! I picked up a gorgeous tablecloth and now laid over my dining room table it looks amazing, especially with my red cloth placemats!

You can also see in the picture above, my bargain of the day!!! A genuine bevelled mirror. I found this little beauty in Snoopers Paradise in The Lanes. It was just sitting on the floor propped up against something and could have been very easy to miss. It cost me an amazing £8. Now, I have been looking for one of these on eBay for ages and they usually go for over £30 with a delivery cost of at least a tenner and you cant insure them for delivery. I am over the moon I have managed to snap one up at such a little amount. Looks fantastic on the wall too!!!
I also bought a Cath Kidston plate which is now pride of place on my dresser. Tina and I stopped off in Costa for a hot chocolate and panini and sat outside in the glorious sunshine watching the hustle and bustle in The Lanes. All in all a brilliant day!

Where I live we have a house clearance 'warehouse'. Its actually more like two huge garages and it full of interesting furniture and 'stuff'. So, this morning I took a drive there and picked up a few bits. This little lots cost me just £3!! Now thats the kind of price I like!

What a bargain! A lovely tablecloth, a tablerunner, two jugs and this table. Well, I have been working on the table all afternoon, plus a quick trip to B&Q for a new handle and it now looks like this.....

Its not finished yet, I still need to find something to line it with but I think it is looking great so far!

Its been a really busy weekend here. I have been crafting and making bits and bobs. The new kittens arrived on thursday morning and they are really gorgeous. Ellie decided to have them at the back of the cupboard and they are all doing well. Five this time!! Cole, Leo and Piper are slightly disgruntled and not being allowed free roam of the house but I am so worried they will get at the new kittens, seems only yesterday they were the tiny ones!! A few people have asked for one of the new kittens already so I dont think I will have any trouble finding homes for them. I cant keep them all as much as I would like as nine cats is a few too many for anyone!!
Here is a pic of one of the tabbies...

My dad bought over a suprise for me last night. A friend of his had given him an old black and gold sewing machine for me. It doesnt come in a table, just in a box and it has the name Gloria on it....I have no idea what make it is, if anyone can help, I would be grateful. I will post a pic later.
I have been bidding on a few items on ebay this weekend. I won a cute Matthew Rice tin, two pairs of vintage shoes, a collection of Enid Blyton - St Clares books (I must have read every Enid Blyton book as a child and loved them all!) and a really cute metal sign with a tea cup on it, when they arrive I will post piccies!!
I took my daughter Brooke out for lunch yesterday to the local pub for sunday lunch. All the boys were out doing various things so I thought it would be really nice to do something together. She was really well behaved and enjoyed herself and the food was pretty good! The man behind the bar gave her some paper and colouring pens to play with while we were waiting and it was really lovely to see how grown up she is getting. She will be off to school in september and then I wont have any littlies at home anymore!:( Time goes past too quickly.
